Most luxurious hotel in Spain due to open in Port de Soller, Mallorca

13 July 2010

The Jumeirah group, famous for its 7-star hotel, is planning to open the most luxury hotel in Spain on the island of Mallorca. Balearic-Estates.com have just visited the building site of the Jumeirah Port de Soller.

Port de Soller is said to be one of the most attractive towns in Mallorca and famous for its unique location. Surrounded by hundreds of orange and olive trees as well as the mountains this port will definitely attract a lot of visitors from all over the world. The valley of Soller also known as the ‘Valley of Gold’ is one of the most beautiful on the island and has direct access to Palma.

Located on a dramatic hill-top adjacent to the sea, the Jumeirah Port Soller Resort includes nine separate buildings comprising 120 beautifully-adorned guest rooms, four distinctive restaurants, a Talise spa, two swimming pools, three meeting rooms and a naturally lit ballroom. All of the guestrooms and suites, with interiors of olive wood and leather designed by Amsterdam-based FG Stijl, will have sea or harbour views with balconies or terraces overlooking the town of Port Soller. There will be two swimming pools, a 2,000-square-metre spa and wellness center and conference and banqueting facilities on the 4.2-acre site.

Jumeirah Port Soller was originally scheduled to open in early 2010, but a company spokeswoman said the inauguration is now set for a year later.

This is a fantastic bit of information for buyers still considering the Balearics. Mallorca seems to be the destination for visitors looking for luxury. With increasing market confidence the island reinforces its position as a destination for further investment.
