Santanyí

Location
Santanyí is a small town in the south east of Mallorca, around 55km from Palma.

Description
Santanyí has the structure of most old Mallorcan towns, with the town itself surrounding  a market square, which has stalls laid out every Wednesday and Saturday morning.

The square is populated with restaurants, cafes and bars, although there are also a handful of supermarkets, boutiques, galleries and shops dotted across town.

The activities here are numerous; the Cala Santaní golf course is only 20 minutes drive away and there is also a scuba diving centre.  

Although Santanyí   is a thriving tourist resort, it has avoided the trappings of commercialisation and still retains a good deal of charm and tradition.

Within Santanyí  itself, most properties take the form of old townhouses, many of which have been sympathetically modernised whilst still retaining many period features and a good deal of character.  On the outskirts of the town, larger properties in the form of villas can be found.  Villas in Santanyí are quite reasonably priced, with a four bedroom villa usually priced at around €500,000.
