San Antonio

Location

Set on the western coast of Ibiza and only a twenty minute drive from Ibiza Town, San Antonio is perhaps the island’s most famous resort.

Description

San Antonio really is the place to be if you are a young, thrill-seeking holidaymaker in search of a good time. Certainly a resort for clubbers, not families during peak season, it is renowned for its parties and evening clubbing, which tends to start at around midnight and wind down at dawn.  During the day, the town is relatively quiet, with most revellers sleeping off the evening’s excesses in their rooms or on the beach, revving up again as the sun goes down.

The town square is extremely pretty, with trees, children’s playground and fountains.  There is a new promenade in the town, which runs alongside its stunning marina, which has been labelled as one of the most beautiful and famous natural harbours in Europe. Wealthy boat owners consistently choose to dock their yachts and speedboats here.

The beach itself at San Antonio is relatively new; constructed in 2002, although with so much choice on offer, many holidaymakers travel to one of the nearby beaches to top up their tan.  However, there are a number of bars and restaurants, many of which offer a high standard of cuisine and service –it’s not all fast food restaurants and kebab counters!

There are, as you might expect, a vast array of shops which are slowly moving away from the kitsch gift shops often found in such resorts, to trendier, designer label boutiques and several supermarkets.

There is plenty of reasonably-priced property for sale in San Antonio, although investment here would only be suitable for those interested in the clubbing scene, those looking to live here outside of the summer months or those looking for a rental income.
