Illetas

Location

Illetas is an exclusive resort, forming part of the municipality of Calvia, on the south west coast of Mallorca, around 10km from Palma.  It is populated principally by Spanish residents as tourism has not yet taken hold of this region.

Description

Although a designated holiday resort, Illetas is very firmly designed to cater for holidaymakers searching for luxurious accommodation, facilities and beaches.  

Overlooking Palma Bay, there are two beaches here - the Platja d'Illetas and the tiny Platja Cala Comptessa, although a number of hotels have their own private beaches. There is also a diving centre and several golf courses nearby, at Bendinat and Son Vida.

With regards to entertainment; as anticipated, the nightlife in Illetas is low key and principally hotel-based. There are few shops, with both residents and holidaymakers choosing instead to travel into Palma for their retail therapy and leisure activities.  However, there are a handful of small, exclusive bars and restaurants.

From its description, it is relatively evident that the exclusivity of Illetas and its lack of commercialisation means that property here is in high demand, particularly with professional couples from Palma, looking for somewhere more rural to commute each day.  Should you be looking to buy a house in Illetas, it may surprise you to know that villas can be priced up to €15m.  Even a typical terraced house in Illetas, with three bedrooms, will normally be priced over €1m.
