Cala Tarida

Location

Cala Tarida, built on a rocky cliff overlooking a superb white sandy beach, is a beautiful bay on the south western coast of the island, around 10km from San Antonio. 

Description

The resort’s beautiful sandy beach (the longest and widest on Ibiza’s west coast) and plethora of hotels, apartments, bars and restaurants attract families year on year and investors looking for property for sale in Cala Tarida.  However, its low key nightlife means that younger people, looking for a little more grown-up excitement, head for Ibiza Town and San Antonio.

With its quaint fishermen’s huts and stunning pine forests, Cala Tarida is also a haven for ramblers and those not so keen on sunning themselves on the beach each day.

There are, as you might expect from a top resort, a number of boutiques, gift shops and a supermarket.   In addition, there is an abundance of water sports facilities, making the most of the bay’s crystal clear waters.

Transport links are excellent, with a regular bus service linking the resort to all parts of the island and a ferry which travels to San Antonio Bay.

Property for sale in Cala Tarida

A recent article in the Daily Mail highlighted the bay as being an excellent proposition if you are thinking of buying property in Ibiza. There are currently several plots of land available, if you are thinking of buying a villa in Cala Tarida.  For a plot of around 2000 m², you can expect to pay in excess of around €200,000.

Being somewhat more urbanised and certainly more tourist-oriented than some other areas on the island, Cala Tarida would certainly be an excellent investment if you are hoping to rent out your property in the summer months.  However, should you be considering spending a substantial amount of time there yourself during peak season, it would be wise to consider whether the additional population and noise, albeit low-key compared to resorts such as San Antonio, would be a personal nuisance.
